CONTEST RULES
1. Contestants will be required to play an” Old time waltz”, “A swing number of your choice” and a “Reel” in that order.
2. In the event of a mechanical break-down you will be allowed to play again.
3. Judges will be in the hall, you will be judged on contest rules, accuracy, appropriate dance tempo, tune and overall style.
4. Tune-up rooms will be provided as well as accompanists. You may bring your own accompanist. [One instrument only].
5. You will be allowed a brief check for tuning on stage.
6. In the event of a tie there will be a play-off, performing a different set of tunes.
7. Judge's decision is final.
8. Prizes awarded during supper.
9. Competitors are allowed to compete in one class only.
10. Contest starts at 1:00PM sharp - Saturday July 31st and 1:00PM Sunday August 1st.
If any of the contestants feel like performing during the dance, feel free to do so, just clear it with the band and the sound techs so we can set you up.
